Biography

Najla Said is an Egyptian visual artist raised and born in Cairo (1999). Said pursued her studies between Cairo, Paris and Boston, and she is currently studying communication design in Berlin (2021-). Alongside her studies, Said has ventured into photography nearly four years ago (2019). Her work delves into intimate and overlooked sides of Cairo living to highlight the underlying dynamics at play with the complex structure of its society. Said's work directs our attention to notions of identity, femininity and womanhood through a personal and introspective lens. Said’s work spans the fields ranging from photography, text, video to sound.
